Atahualpa 3.3 released

A jump from 3.2 to 3.3 because this version includes many bugfixes and improvements. See changelog

  • The language files are not included anymore. Instead they can be downloaded at http://forum.bytesforall.com/. This way translators can have their own update schedule.
  • $bfa_ata_option_name is now $bfa_ata[‘option_name’]. Keep this in mind when editing theme files based on a How-To you found here, on the forum or elsewhere, and you wonder why the code looks a bit different.
  • The above change and a few other changes made Atahualpa faster. It wasn’t slow to begin with but it is about 100 ms faster now.
  • Greatly improved Post Info Items, even PHP can be used now.
  • Broken print function fixed.
  • And much more… see Changelog

french translation is kind of hard at first but if you get used to it, then it is easy -:-

    nice blog!!!

  4. Ryan:

I apologize for even writing this, but I don’t seem to have any other solution. For my blog at wvcharterschool.com , I want threaded comments and the “leave a comment” boxz to show up at the end of the posts. I just can’t do it. I know it can be done, I just can’t seem to find the place to do it.
    Thanks
    Ryan

Thanks for the answer, Flynn! At least I understand now the reason why the “Comment” link is not there and must not be there any longer :)

The link where you can download version 3.3.2? It is here http://wordpress.bytesforall.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=13

In case you meant some kind of update file with only the differences between 3.3 and 3.3.2, there is none. You’d have to make a complete new install, but you can keep your existing version 3.3 to be able to switch back if something goes wrong. See further info here http://wordpress.bytesforall.com/?p=70

  9. Edward:

OK, I am probably missing something and will end up making a major ass of myself after asking this.

I need to download everything from v3.3 to 3.3.2, but where is the link/s.

Please bare with me here, I’m still suffering the after effects of anesthetics.

I posted info about that here http://wordpress.bytesforall.com/?p=70 and there are also threads about it at http://forum.bytesforall.com

Themeframe.com is my site, I’ll launch it within the next days, it’ll feature a new theme based on Atahualpa. I’ll change the wording of the footer links in the net version to make it clearer that both links are my sites and related to both WordPress and the Atahualpa theme

    @Sergejs: 9
It works for me, the only thing that changed is that it does not display the comments link at all anymore on single post pages, following the WordPress convention that comment links aren’t displayed on these pages because the comments are on the same page, below the post. I’ll add something to be able to add “Skip to comments”, a named anchor link in the next version. The reason for this change is that I am using standard WordPress functions for the Post Info Items in the new theme version, so that plugins can hook into the post info items. This is slightly less flexible but less likely to break in future WP versions and integrates better with plugins. I.e. translation plugins need this. Please let me know if it’s not working for you on pages other then the single post pages.

  11. Sergejs:

Just installed the new 3.3.1 and found that despite of the code in the ‘BYLINE: Single Post Pages’ setting, the theme won’t show the number of comments for a post any more. There was no such a problem in 3.2.

  12. Tim:

How do I install this? If I just upload it to my WP_Content/Themes directory will it erase all the settings and customization I’ve done?

  13. Tony:

    Hi Flynn,

Thanks for this update, I love your themes!

Is themeframe.com your site? It’s in the footer of Atahualpa 3.3. I don’t think it’s a mistake, and I just like to know who I’m linking to.

  14. Ron Foreman:

    Hi Flynn,
Thanks for all your efforts, great theme!
I would like to upgrade from v.3.2 to 3.3. Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this?
    Thanks!
    Ron

  15. Wolforg:

Hello Flynn and congratulation for this new version of this great wordpress theme :-)
I’ve posted the french translation here : http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=1014

    Keep the pressure ;-)

  16. Flynn:

@Peter: Download a language file at http://forum.bytesforall.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 and put it into the theme’s main directory /atahualpa/…

  17. Flynn:

Can you please post it in http://forum.bytesforall.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 ?

I’ll organize that section of the forum these days so each language file can be easily found

  18. Wolforg:

Hello, I’ve done a french translation for the Atahualpa 3.3 but where can I post it?

Good job for this version, I test it now :-)

  19. Peter:

    Hi,

I just changed to Atahualpa Theme and it distroys all Comment related things!

In the posts and excrepts instead of the local language, ONLY ENGLISH is visible! So no comment, leave a replay, submit comments … just like this …!

It must be changed, but I do not know how. I am a lamer, I ca not edit php or what. Could you give me something that I can copay and paste into somewhare OR add a plus option in the admin side: Language/Localization.

    Waiting your feedback and help.
    Thank you.
